WZ8 Zirconium Tungsten Electrode for TIG Welding
The zirconium tungsten electrode is an electrode variety developed to improve the disadvantages of pure tungsten electrodes that are easy to melt and contaminate the workpiece under high-load welding conditions. The biggest feature of this electrode is that the end of this electrode can maintain under the condition of high load current. It is spherical to reduce tungsten penetration and has good corrosion resistance.
The zirconium tungsten electrode contains a small amount of zirconium oxide (ZrO2). The welding characteristics of the zirconium tungsten electrode are generally located between the pure tungsten electrode and the thorium tungsten electrode. In AC welding, zirconium tungsten electrode is the most commonly used, because it is easier to start arc than pure tungsten during welding, and the arc beam is stable, and it can also prevent pollution very well. The current-carrying capacity is also good. From the perspective of performance, Especially in the case of high load current, the superior performance of the tungsten zirconium electrode is irreplaceable by other electrodes. Generally speaking, the zirconium tungsten electrode is the best non-radioactive tungsten electrode.
Features:
1. The zirconium tungsten electrode performs well under AC;
2. Keep the spherical shape at the end of welding;
3. Excellent performance load conditions under high performance
4. High surface finish, no burrs
5. The arc is more concentrated and stable than other products

Application:
Zirconium-tungsten electrodes are also used for high-quality radiation welding. The best application that requires the least tungsten contamination. The zirconium tungsten electrode is generally used for alternating current, and it is not recommended for direct current. Zirconium tungsten electrodes are used for AC welding of magnesium, aluminum and its alloys.
The welding characteristic of zirconium tungsten electrode is located between pure tungsten electrode and thorium tungsten electrode. It is a tungsten electrode product developed to improve the disadvantage that pure tungsten electrode is easy to melt and contaminate the workpiece under high-load welding conditions.
